Actually it's worse than that. Yes, Matt Damon is making a film with other Hollywood reds to promote a Stalinst history of the United States. But as Larry Schweikert's new book -- 48 Liberal Lies About American History shows, college textbooks claim that the Rosenberg spies were innocent, and do their best to identify America with the KKK. Yesterday, the liar and traitor Morton Sobell who kept his guilt to himself for fifty years has now admitted that he and the Roenbergs were guilty. The New York Times which reports this story still leaves an opening for those pro-Soviet progressives who want to keep alive the fiction that Ethel was innocent. No she wasn't. She was a knowing member of a conspiracy headed by her brother and her husband to steal America's atomic secrets.
Well, at least Sobell fessed up at the age of 91. Alger Hiss went to his death lying to protect the progressive cause, and his friends at the Nation and on faculties across the country continue to do so to this day. People often write me suggesting that the fact that 10% of American professors share these anti-American, pro-Communist views as I estimate in my book The Professors is no big deal. That's 60,000 professors, more than a hundred thousand college courses and several million students a year getting a dose of rabid anti-American propaganda. And you wonder why a man who was intimate friends with a racist and anti-American crackpot and an anti-American terrorist could be the darling of college students and the media and run for president.
