Eskimos and the Environment By: David Yeagley
FrontPageMagazine.com | Tuesday, January 25, 2005

Eskimos think their world is melting. Looks like they may want to cash in on the last of the ice—they, and the leftists who are using them to validate the “global-warmingpropaganda that circulates around the planet.

The New York Times reported December 16, 2004, that the Eskimo people are taking their case to Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. Some 155,000 “Inuit” people of North America’s frozen country believe the United States contributes substantially to global warming, and that global warming is actually threatening the very existence of the Eskimo culture.

Instead of an environmentalist issue, they’re going to make it a human rights issue. That should get them the attention they want.

But it’s the same old leftist story. Pick a group, any group; lament the wrong done them, real or imagined, and you have world support, or at least the United Nations’ support. The Left always picks some indigenous group, then weaves its cause into the pith of the leftist agenda; works every time. Why? Those opposed to such an indigenous cause are easily condemned as racists. If you think global warming is a scam, then you’re anti-Eskimo!

Well, it seems most scientists in the world are racist. According to the American Policy Center, there is no global warming. In fact, the temperatures have slightly cooled in the last eighteen years. NASA scientist James Hansen, who started the “global warming” political enterprise, has recently slaughtered the whole leftist cash cow of environmentalist causes. There is certainly no measurable, significant man-made effect on the earth’s temperature.

Volcanoes, however, have been periodically devastating to both the atmosphere and the temperature. Shall we blame the Mexican volcano gods of Popocapétepl, or Iztaccíhuatl? How about the Hawaiian Pele? Now there’s a leftist dilemma. The lovely indigenous gods, so deeply adored by liberals, are the culprits of global warming, and the beloved indigenous tribes their accomplices! And to think, Pele was an abused female, too.

But no matter. U.S. politicians still see money to be made and votes to be won in the global warming issue, in spite of the fact that the climatological propaganda enterprise is on its last breath. Karl Rabago, a lawyer and Energy Program Manager for the Environmental Defense Fund, who also was Deputy Assistant Secretary for Utility Technologies at the U.S. Department of Energy, has been duly exposed. His Clinton-appointed claims of global warming have been demonstrated as groundless, and his accusations against industry shown to be equally false.

Now, we’re all for conserving energy and resources. But, must leftists be so racist about it, and continue to abuse the pristine primitives of the world to authenticate social warp and ultimately to advance anti-American causes? In the Clintonian anti-American plan, the Third World countries were not to be subjected to the rigid environmental standards that the industrial world is. The Left wants to bring down the achiever, and give the losers a chance to really pollute the world. Who are they kidding?

Furthermore, as an American Indian, I note that the Eskimo people, that group selected by the Left to keep that global-warming issue alive and lucrative, have always had quite a separate history from the rest of the American tribes. They fought no wars. They spilled no blood for treaties. Their “land” was not so desirable. They did not suffer the same conflicts over their icy homeland that most other “indigenous” peoples of America endured over their choice, productive lands.

The fact is, although they are obviously a Mongoloid people, they are simply not American Indians. Therefore, they have no special relationship with the American government, or they certainly don’t deserve any such relationship the way the warrior tribes do. They’re simply “free agents” for the leftist environmentalists. They’ll make a fine case against America.

But let’s remember on thing: the rest of us Indians had to change…or die. The warrior tribes had to submit to radical changes of culture and life style. Many were moved far from our homelands. We accuse ourselves of assimilation, when it’s really only about survival.

So who are these Eskimos to think they deserve different treatment? What’s so special about them? They’re not even classified as American Indians. They’re “Inuit,” or Eskimo, or Alaskan Natives. Why should America try to “preserve” their environment? What treaty is this based on?

A false scientific claim of global-warming, a non-authoritative claim to preserve an irrelevant ethnic life-style, and an anti-American political orchestration behind it all.

Everyone’s the fool on this one.
