Dear David,
Mark Willes has asked me to respond to your letter to him of March 29.
It is puzzling that you who oppose quotas when it comes to race-based policies of so-called affirmative action should find yourself nonetheless an assiduous bean-counter of those whom you suppose to be men and women of the Left and Right.
To weigh upon the anti-communist credentials of our occasional contributors as the chief criterion of their right to be published is a vile and shameful practice, which in today’s world is of no use whatever since the very categories of Left and Right have been rendered hollow and meaningless by the human experience of the recent past.
Sincerely yours,
Steve Wasserman
